Swedish Massage Therapy Northampton

Across all the therapies, I use a variety of techniques from effleurage and petrissage. This is in addition to advanced practices such as soft tissue release, muscle energy techniques, neuromuscular techniques and positional release, which when combined give you the greatest benefit.

Below you’ll find a summary of the therapies I offer, but it’s more beneficial for us to discuss your issues and what you need help with, and then we can decide what treatments will be best for you.

Swedish Massage

Swedish Massage

Swedish massage offers a range of health benefits. It uses basic massage techniques to help with such things as promoting relaxation which reduces emotional and physical stress, and improving circulation to help flush out toxins. This is the most well known type of massage and forms the foundation for all other massages.

Swedish massage is a whole-body massage. Alongside it’s calming and relaxing effects, it can help to soothe tight muscles, and it can also generally improve health and well-being.

If you’re looking to release tension, decrease pain and help with the prevention of muscle injury, this could be the massage for you.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage is aimed at reaching deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. It is great for relieving chronic aches and pains such as neck and upper back, lower back and leg tightness.

Deep tissue massage is similar to Swedish massage as it uses the same basic techniques but is more focused on releasing chronic muscle tension.

Remedial Massage

Remedial Massage

Remedial massage is a great way to prevent and treat muscle injuries, chronic pain and muscle soreness.

We are meant to be active. We weren’t designed to sit or stand in the same position for long periods of time, yet the demands of modern day life mean that we end up doing these very things every day.

Small changes in posture can happen over a long period of time. You might not even be aware of these changes taking place, but simple everyday activities over time can put stress on our bodies and the results can cause pain and discomfort. Remedial massages are designed to treat both deep and superficial tissues, and not only can they help to reduce pain and normalise the body’s muscles, they also promote relaxation.

If you have a lot of muscle tension or chronic pain caused either by a specific injury or work related problem, this type of treatment could help.

Sports Massage

Sports massage is designed to help achieve better sporting performance as well as remain injury free. This is effective before or after an event and to help recovery during training.

Treatments are tailored specifically for the clients needs and use a combination of advanced techniques such as friction, soft tissue release and muscle energy techniques to reduce stress and tension, which can build up during physical activities.

Sports massage can break down problems quickly and effectively and help prevent injuries caused by overuse and repetitive movements.
